Established in 1990, the Texas Guitar Workshop is the place for the best guitar repair and custom instrument build outs in the Southwestern United States.
For the past 27 years, the owner Kenny Kranzow has been repairing, restoring, and building acoustic & electric guitars, basses, banjo’s, mandolins, dobro’s, dulcimers, baja sexto’s, upright Basses, violins, fiddles, sitars and just about anything with strings. From custom electronic work, to preamps and pickup installs, routing, guitar customizing, tuner replacement, neck & headstock repairs, acoustic wood/body cracks, bridge replacements and full on restorations, specializing in but not limited to, vintage instruments.
Kenny has just about any and all major company warranty certificates including, Fender, Jackson, Guild, Tobias, Gretsch, Gibson, Epiphone, Yamaha & Taylor to name a few. Kenny started his career in instrument repair when he began working at the Brook Mays Pro Shop in Dallas, TX. It was Brook Mays who sent Kenny to apprentice from many leading instrument manufacturers so he could become well versed in repairing their products. Kenny also worked with Kim Davis, of “Point Blank” fame, who managed the guitar department before moving into another position as Head Sales Rep for the Peavy Corporation. After working for the Brook Mays Pro Shop for three years, Kenny moved to work at Mars Music. He worked as one of the head techs at Mars Music for three and a half years before going to work at Shane’s Guitar Repair in Richardson, TX. His fantastic work at Shane’s lead him to be the lead tech for the famous Larry Morgan Music in Dallas, TX.
Kenny has apprenticed at Fender, Martin, Gibson, Guild, and Peavey and has also worked with Don Wiggins at Fender, Jack Schwartz at Fender, Herbie Gastelum at Fender, Bob Harris at BH Guitars and Shane's Guitar Workshop, Robert "Bob" Benedetto at Benedetto Guitars, Bob Taylor at Taylor Guitars, and visited and learned from Ron Wickersham of the world-famous Alembic Instruments

Kenny was a longtime friend of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Vaughan family and much of his passion for guitar luthiery and repair came from being around his friend Steve. He also served as Production Manager for 20+ years for the SRV Concert held each year benefiting the Scholarship Fund.
